All the advantages of the Bilstein shock absorbers are preserved in the system of strut.
Bilstein chose a completely new approach with the used assembly.
Indeed the stem of connection is attached to the bottom of the tube of the leg of suspension and does not have to move.
This is why the tube of shock absorber is guided by broad surfaces of the sliding rings  .This technical makes it possible to absorb the side loads and to facilitate the vertical movements.

The sets of the Bilstein Bi-tube system with gas pressure have been manufactured, them also in the most precise manner on the level of compression and relaxation the shock absorber is developed by the exact fitting of the piston and the valve of draining to the type of the vehicle.
Closing with the guide of the piston rod and the joint is conceived to resist the extreme loads in order to reach a great reliability.

The chrome platted and resistant to wear stem is made out of steel treated by induction and can withstand pressures of 10 tons.
Its roughness is about 0,2 microns only.
The seals and guides Bilstein unit gets a high degree of seurity.It prevents any oil leakage  even after several million compressions and relaxations.

1 The tube

The tube of the shock absorber is carried out with a special method of extusion.It is a process without welding, pressure resistant ,with a surface quality as smooth as the boring of an engine cylinder.

2 Pistons

compression and relaxation movements are controled by piled up discs which regularize the oil flow through the piston .These discs ensure an unlimited operation and eliminate the need from a readjustment
